Periyava
was at camp Tanjore,Sethinipuram-Periayva got early at 3 am , went
for snanam, started performing puja and puja was over at 9 am. After
that, Periyava finished his bhiskhai also. Periyava asked the kaingaria
devotees to sit for meals.They did not have the practice of taking food
before 2 or 3 pm. As per Periayva uthiravau, they sat for meals and
they consumed less food as they took food daily at the Sri Matam camp
only after 2 pm. Periyava started for next camp and they travelled 10
miles. Hunger came for all the kaingaria devotees and they were
thinking that they will get food only after Periayva finished evening
puja i..e it may be around after 6 pm. They were very hungry. Periyava
knew all these things. So Periyava took some mysore bak,some orange
fruits, some mango fruits and orange mango mysore bak juice was ready .
This was prepared by Periyava in Silver pela with uthirini was used for
mixing all these things. Periyava called all the kaingariya devotees and
Periayva served that juice to all the kaingaria devotees. Such was the
karunai of Periayva towards others.
In another incident,
Periyava sacrified his bhikshai for the sake of Andhra vaidiks. Periyava
was camping in a forest area which was devoid of many facilities. At
that time, some 3 to 4 vaidiks from Andhra came for darsan of Periyava.
They used to take food –i..e. suyambagam- they will prepare food and
they will take it. They won’t touch the food prepapred by others.
Periyava asked the vaidiks to go for a bath, perform daily puja and then
come here for meals. The kaingariya devotees were more worried because
Periyava will insist to provide all facilities to the vaidiks who had
come from Andhra. Facilities cannot be extended at the camp because it
was a forest area. So the kaingria devotees were also worried. After
finishing of daily pujas and other things, vaidiks who came from Andhra
came for darsan of Periyava. Surprisingly Periyava told the vaidiks that
facilities for cooking are very difficult and so I have asked the
kaingria devotees to provide the food- bhikshai prepared for me- having
less salt-not so tasty – to you. So you can take the food i..e bhikshai
prepared for me. The kaingria devotees were somewhat happy because
Periyava won’t insisit them to provide more facilities to the kaingria
devotees. But on the other hand, they were worried because Periyava had
sacrified his bhikshai for the sake of vaidiks who came from Andhra.
Periayva told the kaingria devotees that today is ………… and so I will
take only milk. Such was the karunai of Periayva towards others.
In another incident, Periayva was suffering stomach pain. So the
ayurveda doctor Chennai gave some medicines for stomach pain for 30
days. The konar of the sri Matam who was looking after the cows came to
Periyava and told that the cows were not taking food due to some
reasons or other. Periyava gave all the ayurvedic medicines given by the
doctor of Chennai, to that konar, konar mingled the medicines with
jaggery and gave to the cows. In the evening cows were alright.
Periyava got the message and the stomach pain of Periyava went away
silently because that pain cannot trouble Periyava. By providing
medicines given to him to the cows, trouble for cows had gone and so
similarly stomach pain of Periyava also.
