In the presence of the divine- copyright Sujatha Vijayaraghavan.

Bhagavata Prasad

A group of Bhagavatas came for Periyava’s darsan. They expressed a desire to perform namasankirtan in Periyava’s presence. They were granted permission. The performance lasted almost four hours. Periyava sat there and listened to the whole performance. When it concluded he instructed an attendant to offer a plate of unrefined sugar to the Bhagavatas. The Bhagavatas were delighted to receive such a sweet prasada. After they left Periyava asked  for the plate to be brought to him. He took a little from what was left and ate it. He taught a lesson silently but firmly to the attendants.

Prasada from Bhagavatas is very sacred. If we eat in the name of the God will often comes to mind. No! Periyava did not say this. But his silence coupled with  his gesture became un forgettable lesson.
